Ok, seems you guys like to paint...here is a few things I did last year.

Was going for an answer to Eugene O'neill...

Here is another I gave to my best friend who loves Corona beer. I always loved that Christmas commercial with the one palm with lights. Must be a beach in Mexico or central America. I included a poem I wrote as well...long beautiful story behind it :). I sketched it then went over the pencil with a fine tip Sharpe. The blue is from a raid on my Daughters art supplies, the white moon and light and shadow is actually White Out!

Hmmm. The bike one - I rebuilt several of my mountain bikes. And like that poster, I had parts enough left over that I built a bike for my wife and my daughter, needing only the frame. Lace the wheels myself, but sometimes I have the urge to weld up my own frame. One of the things I haven't seen here - my mom likes stained glass and always has. So, for her birthday one year, I learned how to do stained glass, and made her a panel. My wife liked it, so I made her one. My mother-in-law liked that one, so I made HER one as well. Now I have a boat-load of stained glass and stained glass supplies. Hmmm, maybe I need to learn how to do mosaics?

(Yeah, the title says pics, but I don't have any of the bikes or the stained glass.)

Stained glass is very cool. My mom used to do it all the time when I was a kid, and I have a few of her pieces in our house now. I remember watching her for hours! I actually learned to do it while I was in HS, but haven't done any since. It's really not hard, but a very cool process.

You guys are unbelievable! Nice work all!

Added some sun- and rainprotection to the patio.
It was a lot of fun and I got to buy a lot of new machines! :D

diy speakers

This is my first attempt at building a pair of speakers.... cabinets are Baltic birch cut by a CNC router, drivers and crossover parts are from Madisound. I had lots of help from an "old world craftsman type" brother-in-law.... next is a matching subwoofer.

Thanks for the compliments. Everyone that has heard them think they sound really nice, although I think a sub may be needed to fill out the lower end, just a bit.

I designed and built this outdoor shower for our cottage. It hooks up with hose connections for easy drainage. Floor is plastic decking - sides are pressure treated fence boards.

When I was a kid, the same house was worth 150K. Anytime you saw a western movie or an idyllic country road it was filmed there. All the movie stars moved to the area and the land value exploded.

You used to be able to ride dirt bikes all over town. Now its all McMansions. Sad, really.

With the drought here in California, I've been doing more surf fly fishing. Keeps the stress off of the trout, and there's always lots of water at the beach!

You need a stripping basket to hold your line as you strip it in to keep from getting tangled. Baskets can run up to $85. Made this out of an Ikea kid's step stool and splurged on a Simms wading belt for a total cost of $30! Made with stool, pipetts, self tapping screws and silicone.
