Need to rub one out.

Grandson gently scraped my glasses across the fireplace. Not sure if the lenses are plastic or glass, but want to try polishing out the scratches (new lenses are $150).

Suggestions for a specific rubbing compound or super-light-grit polish?

Why not go to an optical shop and see what they would charge to polish the lense?

You're on the wrong website if you want to "rub one out". Try "WWW.girls with glasses.com !

If it's just the anti glare coating that got scratched/crazed, try 3M Finesse it.
You will basically remove the rest of the coating.

I've had ok results doing this on my "work" glasses. These get wiped with lacquer thinner to remove overspray and any manner of other Mis treatment.

If it is just the anti-glare coating, you can have them re-coat the entire lens. They strip off the old coating, and then reapply. Some of the anti-glare coating on my specs got compromised and it was in my line of sight. My glass place sent it back to the manufacturer, and they re-did, and renewed my glasses.

Worth a shot taking it back to where you bought it...
