Ironic that he had covered every war Vietnam to present from the battle field and finds the end of his days on the streets of N.Y. in a car crash.

Just goes to show you never know when your time will be up.

Having seen the Mythbusters episode where they t-bone one at 30mph and seeing how it folded up I don't know I want to ride in one. This could have been normal highway speed, depending on what they hit.

....the driver lost control, sideswiped a Mercedes-Benz and ran into a metal median separating traffic on the highway, according to the New York Police Department.

That car must have been really moving....

I remember his reports from Vietnam. I thought it was a shame to see a real newsman put on 60 Minutes, but his pieces were always classy. RIP.
