Like Bell said, its the tail light that gets me. When they come on, I have to put my arm to shield my eyes. Why they hell do we need such bright LED stop light?

Yeah. The headlights don't get to me much, but some of these cars with their 90 blazing LED brake and tail lights are completely out of control.

Dodge trucks seem the worst to me. Not only do they have sun bright lights, but then their fog lights are brighter yet. And then the truck sits 4 feet off the ground. I often blink my brights against traffic, but to no avail. Its only getting worse.

Drifting a bit off topic but when I first purchased one of these with twin beams, doing wheelies made for easy spotting of raccoons in the trees. Anyways, Suzuki engineers made it very convenient to reach a knob in the cowl to adjust lamp height. I had the alternator upped and installed some big burn elements. Cross desert burners but also had the ability to dial them down for urban use. Never once had an issue with LEO or others complaining.

Dangerously so particularly on narrow country roads at night both on coming and the taillights as well. (In the States.)

Here in the middle east the Euro fog taillights can be very blinding as the drivers are so inconsiderate.

One of the best improvements I made to my cars is an automatic dimming rear view mirror. I loved it so much on the El Camino I put one of the 911.

And yes the lights are getting crazy bright. And the really stupid thing is 60% of the cars drive around with their fog lights on when there is zero fog.

Do you have a source for those auto dimming rear view mirrors? I looked on Amazon but didn't see anything I liked (all required pulling 12V wires to the rear view mirror).

Yes, crazy -bright...it's gotta stop..

On my Saturn commuter vehicle, I have adjusted the drivers side mirror so it can actually shine the tailgater's headlight glow back at the people behind me. It seems to be an epidemic around here that people run with their brights on and a set of driving lights also until some oncoming car flashes them.

You should see how quick they back off when all of a sudden, my mirror is reflecting thier headlights into thier eyes. I make sure I move over to the right side of the lane so they get a full view.

Frankly I have zero problem with the new OEM lights, it just seems like a lot more people are choosing to run the high beams all the time. That and the aftermarket headlight "upgrade" guys who feel the need to run "high performance" 100 watt blue headlights.

Aragorn 02-20-2015 11:25 AM

Sometimes I swear that the Nissans around here are packaged from the factory with two small mice with welding torches inside each headlight. I usually put my hand up to cover my eyes when I pass a Nissan on the other side of a two lane road. Blinding and obnoxious to say the least.

No sir, I didn't like it...

scottmandue 02-20-2015 11:34 AM

And you clever boyz with your "reflecting headlights back at the other guy" might want to consider the possibility of road rage.

I was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic on the 110 freeway on my way home one night... some yahoo in a huge SUV gets up on my bumper and hits his high beams... I flip him the bird.
He forces his way into the next lane and pulls his Escalade up along me and a 500 pound bald guy is cussing me out. Fortunately he was in a big hurry to get somewhere and continued jamming his way through rush hour traffic.

Someone mentioned Dodge Ram trucks. Sure enough, yesterday around 3:00 I went past one on the avenue, same direction, and as he fell back behind me I noticed his fogs were on and bright like the sun. Broad daylight (okay, overcast) and the fogs on. They must be like lasers at night.

I know the type. Bald, no neck, and full of tats. Likes to to throw their weight around, wants to fight at the drop of a hat. Yeah real fcuking azzholes. I am generalizing , so sue me.

Ah, my avatar name sake! Nice bike. And High-beams on during the day for me on street bikes. Some of them still won't see you.

When I drive the 914-6 on bumpy highways people think I'm flashing them. I'm not, so I ignore them. If they continue to flash me, then I am forced to reach for the dash switch for the airplane landing lights.....

Thanks GSXRKEN-

Anyways, I'll 360 on the topic. I kid you not, but anytime of the night on Chicago expressways, could spot a half dozen drivers without their headlamps on. I'm serious. Everytime!

I get that the expressway lighting now is very good and yes, one could see fairly well at night without headlamps but c'mon, whats up with these idiot drivers?!

Baz 02-20-2015 04:26 PM

What...you guys don't wear your sunglasses at night?

I only do it in certain situations (certain roads that I know are a problem)....hey it works pretty good....try it!

sand_man 02-20-2015 04:45 PM

For sure, they are...especially the "aftermarket HID" stuff, in that crappy purplish/blue hue, often improperly aimed by the home installer. We have a small vacation beach place on the coast of NC. There are countless off-road style pickup trucks out there, sporting enough light power to trick a jetliner into thinking there's a runway below. It's obnoxious.
