I dunno, you could probably stop at a U Haul and get them to install a fancy hitch and get one of those scooter carrying apparatus doodads for it.

PS, you now wear 'slacks'.

Neither the MB nor the Porsche has much snow clearance. Now the P car has gone are you going to miss it.....:(

Nice ride, HD. My boss has one and he likes it just fine....AND he recently sold his factory slant-nose 930.

{Note to self: Don't show off any new purchases on this bbs unless I feel überconfident about that purchase. This can be a tough crowd.}

I drive that car in a wagon occasionally, (2013 E350 4-matic), it's great looking IMO and really nice but about as far from exciting/interesting/engaging as you can get in a German car. Does the job beautifully but sleep inducing, it's so quiet and smooth.

Macroni 02-27-2015 06:43 AM

I like it...... but then again I drive a Passat diesel.....

creaturecat 02-27-2015 07:37 AM

Do you miss the P car?
You did not like the 997?
Lotta groceries? :)

BlueSkyJaunte 02-27-2015 07:46 AM

LOL, you guys are brutal. :D

Every time I so much as glance at a Benz my wife preemptively vetoes the notion. She says she's afraid of looking like Yakuza.

You guys ARE brutal:D

I loved the 997, but I don't miss it. It was time. It just wasn't what I need right now.

Ya know, I bought that 997S when I was living in Seattle. I torn up roads all over the Cascade mountain range in it. Drove it 150mph+ many times in Eastern WA and Montana. Driving here in Ohio....meh. Yeah, I've hit the Hocking hills and explored a bit...but its just not the same. And the police presence here is off the charts compared to WA. I think the 997S was a love affair I had in another land, and I now that I'm here, its just not the same. And as any car guys knows, when one door closes, another opens....

CPO MB's are such a great deal. Low rates through MBFS, two payments made by MBFS, two years of maintenance, total five years warranty, with unlimited miles. This is better than any manufacture out there. Just bought the wife a 2012 GLK350 4 matic. Way better than the Subaru she came from. We had a 2015 E350 as a service loaner, and it was an awesome car. Congrats on the purchase!

Absolutely.

Modern cars are all so good it really is all about need for the DD. The 997 or the Mercedes is not exactly a Hobson's choice.

Enjoy.

I,m in the same boat. With a lingering left knee injury I am considering trading my 993 for a newer BMW 3 series with auto and some cash back

rusnak 02-28-2015 11:10 AM

Just having fun with you HD. Glad you're a good sport about it.

Spotting a Porsche in my hometown of 60,000 people is like seeing a UFO, I have had one for 5 years now, and honestly, I think there is one other 944 in the county. This is truly the center of conservativism, and boring, I think the nearest Porsche and MB dealerships are 60 miles away.

This^. When I lived in Chicago, I drove my 3-series home for the holidays and they made as much of a fuss as when I drove the Porsches or my Z4. Now that I've moved back, I see why - almost all I see are trucks, suvs, and sedans, mostly domestic or darn near (Hondas and Toyotas built near here). Hell, I've seen ONE Mini Cooper in the last six months.

Then again, I'm part of the problem - I'm shopping for a Ranger myself, to help move my motorcycles around. My New Year's resolution is to get my first project bike, after all.

A MB is nothing but class. The fact that you got it for such a deal shows your no fool. Enjoy it.
