where are they

sounds like a shifter cart

looks like a mini offroad buggy

with wings

the size of a gokart



is this a new class ?

hill climb ? only or do they road race to?

or am I getting out of touch with cool chit ?

based on the link it looks like they are called cross-kart or cartcross

racing up hills in that region where france, switzerland, and germany meet is about as crazy as the people who come from there.

They will race anything up a hill that has an engine and makes loud noises.

Sounds like a formula one car and not far from being as quick. I'm sure these have an easier budget to swallow than F1.

I have seen sand rails and the mini-china junk offroad carts in the dirt

but never a hill climb pavement version in race trim/tune

That's what I was thinking - off-road vehicles with lowered ride-height. Seems there is much more suspension travel than necessary for tarmac, not enough roll stiffness and maybe seating position/CoG too upright (if looking for outright performance out of a purpose-built racecar).

They do look like a lot of fun though!
