Harrison Ford reportedly injured in Calif. plane crash

Actor Harrison Ford suffered gashes to the head after a small plane he was piloting crash landed at an L.A. golf course Wednesday, TMZ reported.

The entertainment website reported that Ford, 72, was piloting what appeared to be a vintage 2-seater plane when something went wrong and the plane crashed into Penmar golf course in Venice, California.

Ford reportedly suffered multiple gashes to the head and was bleeding when two nearby doctors at the golf course rushed over to treat the actor.

Ford is known for his roles as Han Solo in the "Star Wars" movie franchise, and his titular role in the "Indiana Jones" movie series.

An email to his representative sent by FoxNews.com was not immediately returned.

There were doctors nearby on the golf course when he crashed.

Reports vary from Ford being in critical condition... to fair to moderate condition.

He was alert and conscious when he was put on the stretcher and into the ambulance.

Glad he survived. It'll make for a good story in a couple years.

Fuel selector pre-flight error(did that many times on the CB750K) or mechanical failure?

Either way, it could have been a worse landing. He did well.

No kidding. I was talking about it with a buddy at work. He said "he's older than me. What's he doing flying?"

My response was, "well, he's not flying very well since he's apparently crashed several times."

Granted, he's probably a much better pilot than I am (since I'm not) and I suspect that if you do it enough, especially in a wide array of planes, eventually you'll get into some sort of trouble.
