Done, but with a fake email address. Screw the PC police and the sissification of the world.

stomachmonkey 03-11-2015 08:25 PM

Meh, if the talent physically assaulted me for something as insignificant as being dissatisfied with his meal he'd be off the air recuperating while sipping his steak through a straw and i'd happily go hit the unemployment line.

Ain't nuthin PC or sissified about that.

A little surprised that the OP advocates supporting such a shallow self absorbed abusive elitist who regularly exhibits behavior that is in direct opposition to OP's stated values purely for OP's own personal entertainment especially when that same shallow self absorbed elitist thinks what OP holds in the highest regard has less worth than his patio heater.

YMMV.

450knotOffice 03-11-2015 10:12 PM

A real man wouldn't have gone crying to the BBC.

Bring him back.

porsche4life 03-11-2015 10:57 PM

Was clarkson in the wrong? Absolutely? Should he be reprimanded? Yes. But I don't think canning him and the show is the answer.

I'm sure when someone in the BBC realizes they are about to lose their billion dollar baby, they'll wake up!

varmint 03-11-2015 11:35 PM

i love top gear. and agree that clarkson is the core of the show.

but as hitchcock said "actors are cattle". if they get uppity they need to be slapped down and reminded of their true place in the world.

Didn't he punch someone at work? Over a late meal? I'm with stomachmonkey on this. He should've had his fat ass kicked into next Tuesday, or at least be hauled off in cuffs by the police. BBC should can his ass.

I've seen multiple conflicting reports over what actually happened, including that it was no big deal. It's also pretty clear that he was on the BBC naughty list because of making potentially offensive statements, which is a big part of why he is funny.

I wish some of these "cattle" would be slapped down....the Kayne West's of the world need to experience a dose of reality. I think Clarkson needs to be punished and it will be interesting if the conservitive BBC will bow to public pressure and re-instate him to the show and not lose thier "cash cow" (notice the pun).

Nickshu 03-12-2015 03:57 AM

I still maintain my opinion that this was probably just a staged publicity stunt. No such thing as bad publicity for Clarkson.

recycled sixtie 03-12-2015 04:34 AM

Clarkson will come back. Charismatic, English and slightly demented - what is not to like....

KevinTodd 03-12-2015 04:34 AM

If what the media says happened actually happened, then Clarkson should have been reprimanded alone. There's simply no reason to ruin it for everyone else because of one person.

biosurfer1 03-12-2015 05:48 AM

The story of what happened is BS, or there is A LOT being left out. Physically assaulting someone because a meal is late? Anyone who believes that is the whole story is an idiot.

flatbutt 03-12-2015 05:58 AM

If the assault actually happened he should be fined heavily and mandated to publicly speak against such violence. He's probably not a public menace so keep him on the show and force him to address it publicly, frequently.

Tervuren 03-12-2015 06:06 AM

I find he's been very tiring and childish, he's only bearable with the others.

Make a new show with Hamster and Captain Slow, find a new oaf.

Eric 951 03-12-2015 06:39 AM

I would definitely miss May's standard retort when pranked

"CLLAAARKSSSON"

that cracks me up every time.

It's my understanding the incident occurred in the bar of their hotel which also serves as the local watering hole so it was very public and witnessed by locals unaffiliated with the show.

It getting back to the BBC / going public was a foregone conclusion.

petrolhead611 03-12-2015 08:15 AM

I think that if the allegation is true then he should be fired. It should be done quickly too. He has always struck me as a bit of a bullying type, though I have no proof of this. There are plenty of other presenters, and maybe, just maybe, the show could then revert to being about cars again,
instead of an admittedly amusing ego fest.

They won't fire him.

I believe he has a month left on his contract.

Rumblings are it will cost the BBC a big chunk of change to dump him which makes me think letting this play out may be in their best interests.

Who knows, he could have done this on purpose to get himself canned.

West wouldn't know reality if it bit him in the face.

Nobody can replace Clarkson. Nobody.

72doug2,2S 03-25-2015 12:16 PM

Uggg. BBC is not renewing Jezza's contract!

James and Richard are walking, when that happens.

Jim Richards 03-25-2015 12:17 PM

Other things.

Jimmy, your pointless ramblings are frequently well placed and mildly humorous. Is everything OK with you?

Jim Richards 03-25-2015 12:29 PM

Stupendous, as usual. How's life in FL?

notfarnow 03-25-2015 01:27 PM

I haven't read any "conflicting reports"... it seems that the facts have been laid out pretty clearly:

The 3 presenters were at a bar having drinks, and arrived back at the hotel after the hotel restaurant had closed. They were left a cold plate of sandwiches or something, and Clarkson went into a fit, screaming and swearing and eventually punching a producer, then continued to scream and yell at him loud enough that it was heard throughout the hotel. The producer went to the Dr for a fat, bloodied lip.

Clarkson tried to apologize several times over the coming days, but when it was coldly received, he himself went to the BBC... partly because it became apparent that the show's staff was pissed about the incident.

I love Top Gear and think Clarkson is a fantastic host and TV personality, but those are the actions of an entitled bully. A funny, engaging one that we'd all like to have a beer with, but a bully just the same.

If that was something Kanye West did, most of you would be talking about this completely differently.

I really don't see how the BBC could have done anything OTHER than let him go.

notfarnow 03-25-2015 01:37 PM

Only other side of the coin I could see is if Clarkson has a drinking problem and they didn't try to assist him in dealing with that.

gordner 03-25-2015 01:43 PM

I love the show, and I think he is a fantastic presenter, but you can't go around punching people you work with and expect no repurcussions. I don't think an appology would have cut it for me if I were the one he punched over an issue with his dinner.

A stupid way to end a great show!

aschen 03-25-2015 02:14 PM

I watch the show for J. may anyways.

recycled sixtie 03-25-2015 03:04 PM

He could do okay in a private tv network in the uk. Failing that bring him to the US of A.
With the combination of an English accent and motor critic talent he should do just fine......

yel911 03-26-2015 05:30 AM

All this Clarkson hype..... is just hype. To gain attention.... Celebs do it all the time...

FLYGEEZER 03-26-2015 05:51 AM

When the BBC money crunchers see how it will affect the bottom line....... the company will retract thier dismissle of Clarkson. It's all about the bucks, pounds in this case.

Tobra 03-26-2015 12:01 PM

Screw him. I won't watch the show anymore if they keep him, and quit watching reruns already. I always thought him a bit of an insufferable douche.

I hear good things about that new show called "The Royals".

It'll give Doug something to watch while he's pining for Jezza and sorting his Diana plates.:D

I find Clarkeson riotously funny but, do get the impression that he could be a grade AA Arsehole privately.

No way will the BBC be able to recreate the chemistry of TG with replacements. Stick a fork in it,,,,
