LED lighting upgrade to dash

Hi everyone, has anyone upgraded the lighting on their dash? I have a '71Volvo 142 with rally dash and non working lights. Is this hard to do? Thanks

I may get flamed for this but I'd fix the OEM lights and leave it at that.

LEDs may seem like a good idea but getting them to work and then at the right brightness can be a real pain.
And they may not work with the dimmer anyway. (However there may be a solution to this now)

I can see the advantages (long life etc) but like so many upgrades I really think they are overrated.

Not going to flame you...but you're wrong

There is a guy over on the 914world board who will do the LED's to the 914/911 gauges. He has how to's so that you can DIY and find your own parts, DIY and buy his parts or he will do it for you.
He also has a mod for tach where he uses the guts from a modern tach and the shell of a VDO.

His light are dimmable, any color and even can be made programmable, as in the lights can turn red at redline.

914World.com - The fastest growing online 914 community!

If you can take the gauges apart you can likely do this.

Thanks guys! I'm going to contact Timothy. If the lights worked at all, I would probably leave them but I need some dash lights. I love driving this car but at night is a little tough.
