Clarkson to be "sacked" on Wednesday
Daily Mirror. Take it for what it's worth.
Suspended Jeremy Clarkson 'will be sacked by BBC tomorrow after Top Gear fracas' - Mirror Online Dumb fuc*ing BBC suits. I suppose the producer will get a nice settlement for his pain and suffering. |
Jeremy Clarkson 'tried to apologise' to Oisin Tymon - Telegraph
That producer sounds like a real pus*y. Either that or Clarkson really did go too far. Still, why crybaby away your best meal ticket? Why let the suits kill the show when an apology and maybe some money for pain and suffering settles the deal? I have a feeling this Oisin Tymon fellow has blackballed himself, or at least earned the enduring scorn and ridicule of many a gearhead worldwide. |
This is the perfect time for nexfix or amazon to sign Clarkson and let him do whatever he wants.
|
His contract ends this month.
Seems like if true his contract will not be renewed which is not the same as being sacked. He has a separate contract for BBC Top Gear Live events which runs IIRC till September. If they sack him it'll be for that contract and not the televised show. |
Porsche brand Ambassador! lol
|
If Clarkson is truly gone from Top Gear, then Top Gear has officially jumped the shark.
Kinda reminds me of the whole Charlie Sheen / Two and a Half Men 'drama' - show went south after his departure. And Charlie Sheen also went south... -Z |

i hope they replace him with rutledge wood

Sacking him would have to be the dumbest thing ever...
I really don't think the "BBC suits" are that stupid. |
The BBC is government funded, it'll take a hit with Clarkson's loss but that won't be the driving force behind the decision. Clarkson is counter to the whole BBC culture. He is politically incorrect, refusing to bow before the gods of global warming, multiculturalism and denigration of traditional Western values. He had to go, as such defiance cannot be tolerated in popular culture, and this has provided an excuse.
You can't make a living espousing everything your employer opposes and expect to get away with it forever. |
Ivory tower decisions at their best........LOL
Or govt "run" just proves govt can not do anything of a business nature . To get rid if him will just make someone else very well off. The whole crew might migrate with him.? What a shock ! Who knows >? |
Clarkson's on-screen irreverence is hilarious. But if I had an employee who was so out of control punched a co-worker over food I wouldn't want the liability of keeping him around. Being a popular star shouldn't exempt one from civilized behavior.

I wonder if this also relates to his journalism gig with Top Gear magazine? All of them actually write excellent columns.
Ultimately this will hurt the Top Gear franchise more than it will hurt Clarkson, May, and Hammond, who have said that they won't return without him. The failures of every Top Gear spinoff show that it's not the show concept, it's the execution and chemistry between the presenters. If they do move on I predict that the show dies a slow death, while the three amigos move on to do a similar show on another network. |
The U.S. version sucks because the hosts suck. There is no chemistry there, it's all acting. The UK version is great because the interaction is genuine.

I guess I am a glutton for punishment and I keep trying the American version because I figure it has to get better. It has not. Tanner is the only one that can drive at all. The other guys are just bumbling not funny buffoons with nothing to add. It is obvious they are not real "car guys" and just bad actors. I have seen a couple of the Australian version and it was not bad. |
The guy with the beard on TGA is very much a car guy in real life. But the show still sucks. A fraction of the budget of TGUK, no chemistry between the "talent", and often times the skits are just warmed over versions of ideas that were used on TGUK.
Pitiful. Just pitiful, the whole sordid mess... |
Let's face it. TG is stale. For the last few seasons, it was getting painfully obvious that the boys were just going through the motions. Their jokes & hi jinks were all getting stale & it was time to kill the show. Sure they could have - and probably would have - milked the cash cow for years to come but it was over.

OR maybe his 'cousin' will show up in his absence like they did on Dukes of Hazard - when they tried to sell that ***** to viewers then.............
