"1" The movie...
Has this been discussed earlier?
Great movie. But apparently produced by Max and Bernie. They made themselves look like heroes. Not that in many ways they have not improved the series.

I've seen it a couple of times. The footage is fantastic. The Max and Bernie gladhanding is a little over the top I agree, but some of the stories are compelling. The storyline with Cevert was heart wrenching, even thought I knew what was going to happen...Ickx comes off like a lout, but he still seems like the prototypical racing driver, and I still admire him! The early wing footage is almost comical, would be if there weren't so many tragedies attributed to their failures.
A great companion piece to this is "Weekend of A Champion" Jackie Stewart at Monaco. Great historical racing footage Last edited by herr_oberst; 04-09-2015 at 05:15 AM.. |

I caught this late one night on ESPN or FS1. Lots of footage from the 70s which I really enjoyed. I didn't get into F1 until the mid 90s so seeing how BE and MM came to be where they are today was interesting.
What's even stranger is that Bernie's haircut hasn't changed. ![]()
