Looks an awfully lot like a Z8. Still good looking though!

It looks like the bastard child of a Z-4 and Lotus Elan that fell out of the ugly tree at birth and hit every branch on the way down.

That ought to sell well in Great Britain, Japan, Oz, etc. with the RHD, but might have a little trouble elsewhere.

Other than that, it's probably "what the people want," but I'd rather have a first gen.

Seeing it in red... uh... I predict there will be a few guys who take off all the Miata emblems and replace them with Ferrari emblems to try to impress the chicks.

Why the hell does every new car have to have a fake fender vent. Even the Focus has one ...

Other than that, the numbers look good and the car looks like the BRZ convertible.

Still too much smiley face for me...With a front plate on it, that sure will be an ugly bucked tooth grin...

It's not a fake vent, it's the sidemarker

it looks great, better then my S2000

Reminds me of a Honda S2000.

Doesn't jump out as very special.
Of course, I would drive it.

That's better, I suppose! But still going for the same visual effect, no? I predict this side vent / marker business will look very dated in 10 years from now.

It is definitely a big improvement in styling IMHO over the 2nd and 3rd (?) gen. The first gen was great - taking most of its cues from the Elan.

Ditto on the S2000 resemblance. I enjoyed one of the industry blog's takes. http://http://sniffpetrol.com/2014/09/04/new-mx5-promises-more-pleasure/

I think it is sharp looking in the pictures. Much more masculine than previous Miatas. I'd buy one.

S2000 humped a Z4, but then, I like both of those cars, and that one isn't bad looking. I'm not a huge fan of the current trend in angular headlights and taillights ala Z-car. At least the taillights are round. I'm curious to see one in person.

It's nice that they didn't go with 18 or 19" wheels, but I'm sure that most of the cars will come with optional, giant wheels instead of the 16" that is listed in the article.

+1 on the s2000 comment. but i think thats a compliment. the s2000 is a great looking (and driving) car.

i think it looks great, but i have honestly like every generation of miata.
