I'm Glad you are ok Paul. As Grampaw Pettibone says " you don't got to be a bloodhound to smell what was rotten there."

Wow, Crusty: Grampa Pettibone!

Thanks to all for the well wishes even though I am very much disappointed in my overall performance, chastened and sore:)

Best to all.

creaturecat 04-15-2015 04:51 PM

jeez. ouch.
you fortunate. could have been much worse.
best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Tishabet 04-15-2015 09:15 PM

Sorry to hear about this and glad you are on the mend Paul!

Tobra 04-15-2015 09:26 PM

Take it easy on that hip they just popped back in the socket for you, go back to doingyour PT they gave you when they first did it, if they green light you for it.

rusnak 04-15-2015 10:02 PM

One more hip and a vest, and they'll turn you into a G.I. Joe doll.

speeder 04-15-2015 11:01 PM

Sorry to hear this and glad it wasn't worse. Do you know what hit you in the eye or face?

Most of the time i really miss that bike. But not right now!!!

Get better dude.

+1.....Get better dude (Paul) :D....I have a hard time picturing Seahawk as a "dude" though! My '87 Sportster hasn't been ridden in quite some time now...most of my long time friends (though not "ridding buddies"....I rode alone), have parked theirs for the same reason...too many inattentive (cell phones, etc.) cagers....just not worth it TO ME anymore...YMMV.

ps: Anyone want to buy an '87 Sportster :p?

Sorry to hear about your dads bike. I am happy you came out mostly OK. I always enjoy reading your posts.

tevake 04-16-2015 05:37 AM

Sorry about the loss of your dad's bike Paul.

Happy we haven't lost you, you bring a lot to the forum.

Hoping your recovery goes smoothly and quickly.

Cheers Richard

FLYGEEZER 04-16-2015 05:47 AM

My very best for a speedy recovery.

Paul, I'm thankful to read that you are ok. I haven't been on Pelican of late ( busy job hunting!) and was more than a little surprised to read of your "mishap". Of all the years you spent in the cockpit, to think you would crash/burn at low speed near the farm - really pleased that you didn't auger in...

Semper Gumby! Sam

Aggie93 04-17-2015 08:18 AM

Glad you are ok. Thanks for sharing. While I don't ride it is always better to learn from other people's experiences.

Get well quick.

foxpaws 04-17-2015 08:26 AM

Seahawk - whew - glad you are OK, and are merely regaling us with the details! At least you had the transformer hip - but let's not work at replacing other parts just yet! Hope the aches and pains are disappearing quickly!

gsxrken 04-17-2015 08:57 AM

"If, not when." A reminder for us all, lest it seem to hot to grab the jacket and boots just for this one time.
So glad to hear you emerged from this relatively unscathed. A get-off at anything over 25MPH is very serious stuff just from a tumbling aspect, let alone striking something. BTDT.

Did you hear about the blonde that found out most accidents happen within a five mile radius of the home? She moved.....

Jim Richards 04-18-2015 03:30 AM

Hahahaha! Thanks Rick. SmileWavy

motion 04-18-2015 06:32 AM

Dude! Hate to hear about bike crashes, but thankful you are OK!

DonDavis 04-20-2015 12:42 PM

tsk, tsk...
Paul, my man, glad to hear it was essentially minor. Ego will be fine ( I bet you have plenty of spare stock in that dept ).

Hopefully you'll share an image of the shrine when it's completed...you know how we're a visual, and surly lot around here.

Fair winds, my friend...

Riding buddies. That's what makes bikes dangerous!
Well at least if you have the wrong riding buddies.

My old "riding buddies" liked to ride to places that served beer.
Hey, lets ride to Laveda hot springs bar.
Hey, let's ride to cook's corner.
Hey, let's ride to Mugs away.
Hey, lets ride to Mothers.

I stopped riding with them, and eventually stopped riding the bike.

Beers and motorsickles make bad things happen.
