Hillclimb vid

Hillclimbing is the kind of car race I enjoy watching the most. I just came across this Porsche special video and though that some here might enjoy it as much as I.

I've always been a fan of hillclimbs. Imagine how these would go over in the US? I would like to see one on the dragon in Tenn., just one day a year close the road and invite the best, and all the rest.

I have some friends from my autocross days who have been hill climbing the last few years. Every one of them who has tried, has been instantly hooked. If I ever jump back into any sort of amateur motor sport,( and I will ) this is exactly where you will find me.

Wow, that blue with red 911 at about 6 minutes was being driven well.

We are big into hill climbs around here. I think our Cardrona hill climb is the longest gravel hill climb in the world.

Hillclimbs are my favourite compettive events but there is an awful lot of hanging around waiting for a run, 4 or 5 runs per day is all you will get , 2 of which are practice, and the runs in England are only of 35-60 seconds duration depending on the track and car. At my local track, Harewood,
the Formula 1 engined single seaters are doing over 125mph through the speed trap which is closely followed by a 90 degree right. Even my kitcar is doing over 90mph .Through the farmyard
I am flatout in 3rd gear between 2 stone walls 8 feet apart, makes for precision steering in my tail happy car which has happily stopped by then from wagging its tail after the hairpin (never seen anyone hit either of those walls though).

Great video. The Gulf livery Carrera driver missed his calling as a pro drift driver.

I just missed Pikes Peak a few years ago when I was in CO, but it's on my short list of automotive events to see.
