Energica EGO. The electric superbike
Quote:
100% Italian Racing Bloodlines
0% Emissions

The world’s first all-electric superbike bred from the heartland of Italian racing legend. The Energica EGO. Designed and built by the same people who have designed and engineered racing performance from Formula One Racing to Le Mans 24h for over 40 years.

Massive Performance, no emissions.

The green heart of the electric sportbike is a synchronous oil-cooled motor with permanent magnets. It has 100kW (136 hp c.ca) of instantaneous power reaching from 4900 rpm to 10500 rpm and a torque of 195 Nm ranging from 0 rpm to 4700 rpm.

Energica Ego accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds to reach a top speed of 150 mph with a vigorous thrust that does not make you miss the drops in the engine speed by the constant shifting of the classic internal combustion engines – making the electric superbike faster than a 600 supersport.
Is this finned thing part of the oil cooler?

It is a first swing at a solution but at $35,000 and 570lbs, we are not there yet.

Where's Richard when you need him. On holiday somewhere I guess. He would like this thing big time.

A good friend of mine with Moto GP and decades of F1 design experience has just started as Head of Design for an electric motorbike start up company.

They are shooting for the out right electric Isle of Man TT record and Pikes Peak record this year

For no logical reason, electric cars don't excite me but electric motorbike do

Edit,

Just looked through the website, I've worked with the company CRP who are behind this bike, excellent company full of people who really know their stuff. I wouldm't be exaggerating if I say they are world leaders in complex titanium castings and rapid prototype manufacturing and have been pushing the boundaries in this area of engineering for a long time.
