Ring stuck on finger! Removal Help

Wife's wedding ring is stuck on her finger. She has tried butter, olive oil, cold water, windex!?, called jewelers and they won't do it because of liability reasons. They suggested the ER or fire department. Both are a bit extreme and we don't want to ruin the ring, so I humbly seek some knowledge from the Pelicans?

Go to the fire station. Perhaps their EMT's have a ring cutter. You'll have to have a jeweler re solder.

I appear to have been usurped!

I took a pair of diagonal cutters and just snipped off a soft silver ring once with no damage to myself.

She said she had tried the dental floss method last nite but did have any luck. When I get in we will give it another try. I hope it doesn't look like the finger in the picture.

One an unrelated story, as children, her sister put a jelly glass and on her mouth and created a strong suction. They were watching a monster movie about a mad scientist whose experiments transform his face. When she popped the glass from her face her lips were a huge purple piece of meat. We still laugh at that story today.

Use a little ice to numb the finger, and then bolt cutters right below the joint. It'll come right off. A hatchet will work, but if you aren't real careful, it could free up more tham one ring.

Number 1: Removal attempt should be in the morning for minimum swelling. (Our hands swell through the day. Evening is the hardest time to remove a ring)
Number 2: Hold the hand over the head for at least a minute before trying to remove the ring. Again, this minimizes fluid build up in the finger.
The trick with the thread involves threading an end of string under the ring, then starting just below the ring with the long end, wrap the finger with the string to compress the flesh. Then take the end left sticking out above the ring, unwind the string, forcing the ring down and off the finger as you go.
Use a lube while you're at it.

Best

I've heard the opposite for shoes, never buy in the morning. I can tell you that my rings go on and come off with more difficulty first thing in the morning.

I had to cut my own ring off when it got smashed at work. A pair of sidecuts works well (no fees involved), and the jeweler was able to fix it like new for a fee.

Soak it in cider

oh wait, it's her ring. Never mind, it only works if it's your ring.

or does it .......

You're disgusting, get your mind out of the gutter. Why don't you get yours.
Shut up. you shut up. I'm telling.

Send her to a bar on ladies night with male strippers.
The ring will be off after the first couple drinks.
