Oh I can imagine. "My drone's bigger than your drone."

If they do start using drones to deliver pizzas that's when I'll start shooting them down. It's the urban hunter's equivalent of a duck shooter :)

Shove your "law" up your a$$.

You hover your toy over my pool, checking out my wife or daughter, you can kiss it goodbye.

Up here if you are piloting a drone you have to stay at least 150m from people, buildings, etc, and several kilometers away from airports and military installations. In some cases, depending on the size of the thing, you may have to file a flight plan. You also must keep it in sight at all times. If one of those was hovering around my kids or house windows it would have a set of bolo balls coming at it at a high rate of speed. "I was practicing and they got away from me"

Uhh...yes I do, at least up until navigable airspace - which is generally considered to be around 500 feet. So any drone above my property and under FL5 is trespassing.

Now, that doesn't necessarily give me the right to destroy it. But I would have zero legal concern about taking possession of it and disabling it until such time as the rightful owner comes to claim it.

It would be just plain fun shooting with my air rifle. I may not do it out in the open, and I wouldn't know anything about it if someone came looking for it.

Wrong. Drone flies, it dies...I have enough land to empty a Benelli and not upset the neighbors.

SmileWavy

Entertaining news clip with the lady referencing "drones" like they are alien invaders.

I've got 5 shots in my Remington 870 that says that drone won't be going home. I would not report it, let the owner come forward and explain his involvement.

Why not just a garden hose? The whole point is that they're being flown at low altitudes. Probably can't fly through heavy spray.

Lol the news has tricked some of y'all into thinking this is a problem with even the tinyest statistical significance.

So your neighbors can string wires and cables in the airspace over your house?

If I can trim a neighbors tree branch that hangs over my property line then I can certainly use a chainsaw on their drone.

Nope, shoot it down and if the flyer comes to complain, it provides a nice opportunity for a conversation.

And if the owner of the drone turns out to be a government organization?

Knee jerk reaction is get the pellet gun. But is it really over my house / pool?
Or is it the real estate agent for the neighbor, making a video? Hopefully they would let you know ahead of time though.

My gut still tells me if it is hovering over my area, and I have enough time to get my pellet gun, pump it up and use the "good" pellets, it was up to no good.

I'd put on a home made cellophane "speedo"and camp out at the pool. Legs akimbo. If I can't shoot the thing down, I'm at least tainting the operators minds-eye.

There's a pretty significant difference between the drones that GAs use and commercial stuff....and they usually stay at much higher altitudes so as not to alarm the people they're surveiling.

VINMAN 05-08-2015 08:41 AM

It troubles me that a few of you guys have no problem with someone watching you.
