Audi TT with an electric turbo ?
I noticed on Yahoo today announcements by VW and Audi talking about electric turbo's and electric superchargers. Anyone know anything about this technology ? Here is a blurb on the Audi.

E-Ram!!!!
Saw that in the most recent Car magazine. They use the electric motor to pre-spool the turbo then the exhaust takes it from there. Sounds like a cool feature to eliminate lag. Supposedly ready for production within a few years.

Volvo came out with it already on the new 2015 XC90 Twin-engine. They are getting 450HP from a 2.0 4-cyl engine coupled to an electric motor. The Volvo engine uses both a belt driven supercharger and an electric turbocharger. Pretty amazing drivetrain. So if it's not exhaust driven is it really a turbocharger? or an Electric supercharger?
