Why are all the vampires gay

in Anne Rice novels?

I am reading Prince Lestat, Rice's latest vampire story, which I think is fantastic. This is the first book of Rice's that I've ever read so I wasn't a fan to start. Have the vampires in her previous books been gay? Not that there's anything wrong with it but do they ALL have to play for the other team? IRL, I think gays make up about 10% of the population. In Rice's world, everyone is pansexual but she really doesn't explain the reason.

Is anyone else into The Vampire Chonicles?

Yes. And no. I think she writes them as either asexual or bisexual. I think the first book, Interview With A Vampire was before she had her (adopted?) son. But now that he is very prominent in the gay community, I think her writing heads in that direction.

Probably because after 200 years (or less, check out divorce rates), even manly men get tired of dealing with women's crap ;-)
