Ideal Industries Velocity™ Cable Pulling Lubricant

How hard can this be? Not withstanding the juvenile comments that the suggestion will generate, a decent pair of dykes will snip that thing off in an instant.

So here's a pic of Adrian Barboobs.

In all seriousness, use the method that Moses posted the video of, that is how we do it at the hospital. You can use some lube with the string/floss and it will slide right off.

For the ring cutter and dyke (dike?) suggestions....:

If she wants to wear it again, it has to be resized anyway, so cut it off and have the jeweler fix it.

This.

A decent jeweler can repair a cut off ring.

Get out the dykes....

Sell the wife, ring and all. Everybody wins.

I once said Dykes on a thread....at band camp.....was a three page discussion.

I need to buy another ring cutter. Good chance you nick the digit a bit if you use the dykes.

We always try dish washing soap first. If not, use the dyke cutter. We just have customer wait and resize the ring right there. Not too difficult.

You were the first thing I thought of when I was reading this thread but I wasn't going there

When I was in high school, a classmate worked at the local roller rink and lost her finger when she got it caught on an upper shelf reaching for another pair of skates. I think she was wearing skates and slipped.....ouch !

Or, you could put her on a diet.

Guessing that wouldn't be a suggestion she'd be real happy about! On second thought...don't do that.

+1
Even if you get it to slip off you're going to have it resized, right? So you work and work to slip it off without cutting it, take it to a jeweler, and the first thing he does is cut it to resize it.

Those words never ever will cross my lips. We have a three month old baby she wanted to get wear her wedding band again. Not quite ready for the ring. We tried the dental floss method but the skin was broken and this made for a painful tugging so we ordered a 15$ ring cutter from Amazon. Thanks for the replies as you guys never cease to abuse.;)

Can we at least have pics?

I would (almost) never disagree with the good doctor...

However I was as drunk as a skunk... for some unexplained reason decided to try on an old silver ring... couldn't get it off (the ring)... and snipped it off with a pair of dykes with no damage to myself (much to my surprise).

Just sayin
