Photos of the MassMog trail ride

Someone asked a while ago to post some photos of one of the trail rides we do. So here are a few from last weekend. I'll add a few more once I get them sized. The truck stuck in the mud had to be pulled out with my yellow 416 doka!

Did those vanagons take another route? Syncros do pretty good off road, but I wouldn't think they could match those other rigs.

They could not go everywhere a Unimog or Pinz could, but I was surprised as to how capable they were. Although one quit running the trails at noon and the silver one broke two axle shafts! Luckily he thought ahead and carried six extra with him! Must be a weak spot on them.

It takes a lot to break them, but if you go where you were, well, that's why he brought spares.

I wish I had my Mog out here in Arizona with me. Seems to be a lot of good off-road areas.

This is the 11th ride in six years! The first one was open to everyone, and it was just Unimogs dragging Jeeps up the hills. All except one! So now its open to only European trucks. But we still invite Larry, the owner of the silver Rubicon, as he goes everywhere the mogs do! He is so smooth in his driving and I swear he is looking 30yds. down the trail to see where he wants to go! Jeep should follow him with a camera for a day on the trail! We will climb a trail that is nothing but mud and 2'-3' rocks and he makes it look easy. I would like to see the bottom of his Jeep, as it has to be one huge dent! And when he sells it, the ad should have some kind of warning! But he says he loves riding with us and only goes off-road a few times a year. Just one of those with skills that most of us will never have.
