A Confederacy of Dunces

I can't remember that last book I read that made me laugh out loud. Truly a delight. If you haven't read it, get a copy and make sure you have some time. Its 463 pages and you won't want to put it down. If you have ever been to New Orleans you will really enjoy it.

If you do get it, do yourself a real favor and save reading the forward for after you finish the book. Trust me on this - it works better.

There have been repeated attempts to turn the book into a film. In 1982, Harold Ramis was to write and direct an adaptation, starring John Belushi and Richard Pryor, but Belushi's death prevented this. Later, John Candy and Chris Farley were touted for the lead, both of whom died at an early age, leading many to ascribe a curse to the role.[12]

A truly laugh out loud read. One of my all time favorite novels, along with some Robbins masterworks.

CoD was mandatory reading in the 10th grade. I don't remember it to be THAT funny. ...Maybe because I was forced to read it and all I wanted to do was surf and get stoned.

I just ordered it from Amazon to see if I enjoy it more with an extra 40 years under my belt. Be her Saturday. Thank for the tip. I'm between books.

Really? I didn't know anyone took it seriously back that far. It took forever just to get it published. It was a great book. Kind of reminded me of Fan Man in a hapless hero kind of way.

They think TABS is Ignatius... TABS is far to happy. Then again the only time we spent together was at a bar or buffet...

I read that book many many moods ago, I might have to rag it back out for a re read. One advantage of NEVER letting a book go is I can always go to the shelf and grab it. I have too many books

You can never have too many books, unless they're bad ones.
