Vintage Slot Cars

I recently bought a box of five 1960's 1/24 scale slot cars at a yard sale . The seller had them stored away since 1966 when he was 13 years old and the box hadn't been opened since . Three of them are individual kits and I think the other two are from a set . The box also contained a Cox speed control . How can I find out what this is worth and where to sell them ?

Nice find, I think that I had most of those body styles at one time.

Those are all 1/24th scale built-from-kits cars from the 1965-66ish era before things got crazy and cars got lower and faster and guys started building their own chassis from brass tubing, etc.

If you want to go to the trouble to put them on ebay, this is where you want to list them... 1/24th, pre-1970:

1/24 Scale Slot Cars Pre-1970 | eBay

You will see cars listed there in worse and better condition with initial prices starting anywhere from $65-100 and up, but as with anything like this, it's worth what you can get someone to pay for it.

The fact that the decals are a little scraped up on some of them is no big deal... it's worth much more that the clear plastic bits look to be in pretty good shape. You could list each one for a starting price of $80 and there's no way to predict what they'd go for. At least $100, easy if I had to guess. List the K&B chassis for $55 and see what happens. List the controller for $15.

You'd be surprised at how many commercial slot tracks are open these days. Check around... you might want to have some fun running them before selling them.

Here are some tracks in Canada... don't know some of these cities: Canada - Slotblog
