LeMans24: Well played Audi !!

Saw that in a French Mag.

Audi congratulating Porsche - "Porsche wins the race, and our respect..." (and we'll be back next year kinda thing). Well played, as a reuse of prepaid advertising probably, but well played Audi !!

I am wondering if Porsche will have a TV commercial to respond to last year's taunt from Audi.

They should hire Arnold to just say I'm BACK! and go from there.

Since 2000 there has only been one win by a non-VAG marque.
That is impressive as all get out.

Best

I miss Peugeot, they were close and their cars were pretty! Imagine a 4 way fight ! I hope Audi moves away from diesel at some point. I'd rather have Porsches' 4 Cyl (they should have called it 912 or 914) than a diesel LMP1....

They did. Well, at least on the celebratory t-shirts they were handing out/wearing at the end of the race. The backs of the t-shirts proclaimed "Challenge Accepted" in font made up of doughnut tire tracks.

Porsche won in 1998 as I remember. Who won in 1999?

BMW won with an open-cockpit car. (White livery, Dell sponsored.) I remember seeing one on display at the indoor go cart track in Boston.

Isn't that like Fiat patting Ferrari on the back?

I think a better analogy is Maserati patting Ferrari on the back.
