And he bought it for about $1 million. Not a bad investment.

I think this sale says it all. Is it any wonder any desirable 911 is making stupid money right now.

The collectible car market is in hyperdrive. It's truly global and a monster.

People with 12 million to spend on a car are not often buyers for a 25 to 50K car.

"Twice Wrecked" doesn't really bother me as much as it would on a normal car.

That car would get sent back to McLaren and they wouldn't let it out of there until it was good as or better than new.

$12M could buy you a different amazing car every day for a month!!

Or at least 2 weeks.

This car was the pinnacle of automotive design for its day and will always be desirable. Comparing it to a GT40 or a 917 would be more accurate. 20 years on, this car's performance is still better than some contemporary supercars. And the F1 is the last true driver's car: It lacks the nannies, aids, and gizmos that make other supercars fast and safe.

First thing that car needs is a color change. Then a high down force kit.

I read that he was selling it to buy a P1. How many times will he wreck that one?

Beautiful car as-is... I'm not a fan of purple, but I wouldn't change it.
Many of them have been color changed already, wouldn't have any affect on the value. Especially on a car that's been wrecked twice.

I saw a gray one pulling out of a parking lot on Imperial hwy in Brea a couple weeks ago.

i thought that's kinda risky, driving a million dollar car on the streets.
Little did i realize .......

If I had an extra $12 mil of disposable cash I would not spend it on a car, I would use it to change lives for the better. Reward the deserving, karma etc.

I'll bet that the buyer does not give one s h i t about what the car is actually worth, whether it was wrecked twice or not, or anything else. 12 million to one-percenters might as well be 12 bucks. The car will sell again and even if it goes for far less than 12 mil the seller won't give a s h i t. It's just 12 bucks.
