Boy... yeah... it checks all the right boxes... 2 door, 427, 4 on the floor, 9 inch.
Sweet ride.

Dunno, maybe I'm getting old but that thing would scare the poo out of me, imagine how fast it is with the 427... then imagine going that fast with the dated suspension/brakes.

I learned to drive white knuckling mom and dad's 60's vintage GM V8 cars... and have little desire to go back.

Pretty sure $40K would put me in a nice hot rod Porsche that is competent at triple digits thank you very much.

Flashback to my brother's '65 El Camino.. 450HP with non-power drum brakes..

It got converted to discs pretty quickly after Dad drove it.

Love that car. The 'vert in Baz's picture has potential and the price is right, $12k is a steal. I've been looking at mid-60s convertibles to replace the Z-3. I'm tired of banging my head on the top frame. This old back just doesn't bend like it used to.

I've been over 150 mph in 1970's cars more than once and plenty of time offer 120. Airflow management and fresh shocks truly help. If you don't get air built up under the car all is good.

My ex-FIL had one when it was. His favorite car of all time and he had some sweet muscle cars in the day.
