Id drive that

Sweet! My preference though is for more of a stock example - and also not in red - but no doubt this one is a beauty.

For that kind of cheddar though I'd get a different muscle car, myself.

Passes everything but gas stations and tire shops!
Love the old Galaxies! Learned to drive on a 64 two door 3 on the tree 352.
Was a cool old car.

Neighbors have a pair of 65 convertibles - bone stock. Apparently at one time their dad had a dozen or so.

onewhippedpuppy 06-15-2015 06:13 PM

Cool car, but do "survivor" and re-spray go together?

Shaun @ Tru6 06-15-2015 06:18 PM

I look for those twice a month. Every one I find is already restored.

One of my childhood friend's dad worked at a Ford dealership in Norfolk (Kimnach Ford) and every year would drive a new Ford. We lived there from '55-'70 so I witnessed in person every new Ford model drive by my house daily...and yeah that included the Galaxies! Beautiful cars....always one of my favorites.

AS an aside I just Googled Kimnach Ford and looks like they closed up in 2011....wow....sad affair......

I like that a lot! Great color, good looking wheels and stance.

But.......

If a Galaxie is priced like that, I'd hate to see what kind of money Starliner owners think their cars are worth!!!

ledhedsymbols 06-15-2015 06:54 PM

Just to clarify, the seller is known to ask a premium. Ignore the price, I just think it's a cool car with the right VIN code. Wouldn't take much to make it close to original again.

I would take the Starliner given the choice.

I'd Armor-All the passenger side of that bench seat so that chicks slide over on a hard right. It's a cruiser!

NeedSpace 06-15-2015 07:54 PM

I used to own a 63 Galaxie 500 convertible. Wish I still had it.

The price on this one appears to be a bit high, no?

Baz 06-15-2015 07:54 PM

This one's more my style.....

1967 Ford Fairlane GT, 4 speed, S code car with 390

ckelly78z 06-16-2015 05:05 AM

I have always wanted a 64 Ford Thunderbolt with the tear drop hoodscoop and the 427 4 spd. I know this is a very desirable car that goes for easy 6 figures at the big auctions.

intakexhaust 06-16-2015 06:55 AM

The powerplant alone is gold to the Ford crowd. Should say, legendary to the vintage musclecar era. As for the Galaxie series, we had quite a few in our family. From 1959 to 1968. Good memories.

(side note (pun :) Whats a SOHC engine going for these days?)

sand_man 06-16-2015 07:18 AM

I'd rock that and so would the good Reverend...

When I was living in Seattle, I called that guy a couple times about various cars. They were always over priced. It seems like he is fishing for suckers, and sadly, he probably finds them.
