Jurassic World has got to be one of the worst scripts in history.
Always felt the main characters in the original film were awful actors. As in bad enough that the casting people should be working in mcdonalds now.
But holy mother of poop have they outdone themselves with this latest movie. Absolutely without a doubt the worst movie I've seen in a long time. I get that sometimes a cheap, campy movie is made on a shoestring budget just for kicks. But to purposely make the script this cheesy on such a big film? Wow. |
It was certainly "challenging" and there some gaping holes in the plot.
Yes it could have been better but after the first three movies I wasn't expecting Shakespeare. What it underlines to me is the importance of fresh ideas. |
It's as if they tried to 'airplane' jurassic park and didn't quite make it.
|
Someone hasn't seen some of the films featured on MST3K.
|
Sad. With so much great fiction content why they have to try and recycle old crap.
|
I'm talking 30 seconds in and I was ready to go. I literally would not have been surprised if they stopped 5 minutes into it and said 'nah, we're just messing with you! Let's get the real movie started' and then played a half decent film.
|
Yeah, but that big water dinosaur was cool!
|
You thought the humans were the stars? The dinosaurs are the stars, and I suspect their lines were pretty good.
|
So...you set aside some time, got in a car, started it, deliberately steered in the direction of the theater, drove to the theater (having to stop at several of many stop lights which would give ample opportunity to reconsider the destination), stood in a line, specifically requested tickets for Jurassic world (or worse yet premeditatingly ordered the tickets online), paid (too much)$$$$ for it, stood in another line for popcorn to eat while watching it(paying another ridiculous amount of money), handed your tickets to a ticket guy, who provided you specific instructions on how to get to the specific theater, you followed the ticket guy's directions, you knowingly walked down a long hallway/corridor knowing your ultimate destination (passing other cheesy movies), chose to enter the specific theater clearly marking this movie, walked though several isles of chairs enduring the wretched smell of teen spirit and pre movie ads on the screen, and then just sat there and watched it? The entire thing? With exit signs over doors clearly lit for moviegoers safety that offered you a path of escape?
Dude...you brought this on yourself!!!!!!!:D |

Im not sure what any of this has to do with the exception of a good movie |
Fun fact.
As the flying dino's are attacking the main park area the guy who double fists the margaritas before running is Jimmy Buffett. I enjoyed it. Went in not expecting more than what it was, entertainment. |
It was OK. The dinos and action and idea was OK. THe story was pretty weak. They mentioned the younger kid being a genius a couple of times. What was that about? I think the two main human characters were OK, but the two kids and their parts were horrible. In the first Jurassic Park movie, the two kids were great. The teen brother in this one was especially bad.
Yes, some of the actors were moderate and some of the story was very week. The idea was pretty good, but it just wasn't well executed. Avengers/Ultron and Mad Max were both much better that Jurassic World. |
We saw the first one when it came out, didn't think much of it, haven't seen one since and wasn't planning on seeing this one. Not even when it hits TV next month.
|
Liked the first one. Could live with the second one even if it was a pretty blatant rehash. The third one was downright awful bottom-feeding (no pun). I can't imagine how lousy yet ANOTHER sequel is going to be. God almighty why can't anyone in Hollywood have an original idea for a change. They do enough drugs over there. There have to be a FEW original plot lines kicking around!
|
Sure there were holes in the script and unbelievable animal behavior, but I found it entertaining.
My buddy is a dog owner and more nit picky than me, he said the first half was good, but the second half was so bad that he almost walked out. Some people cannot let go and enjoy the ride, the inconsistencies just drive them crazy. In some films I find the the inconsistencies are disruptive and disturbing, and it's work on my part letting these things go. However this was not one of those films for me, I was able to lose myself and enjoy the action aspects of it if nothing else. |
seeing Mad Max Fury Road a week or two before would have lowered your expectations.

Going to see Jurrasic World and expecting character development and a well defined plot is like going to see the Titanic and expecting the ship to steer clear of the iceberg! When I ride a rollercoaster, I don't expect to critique the foilage surrounding the ride with the person sitting next to me. I saw Jurassic World a couple of days before it opened (premier event for Benz employees). I buckled in and enjoyed the roller coaster - it was a nice 2 hour distraction from reality. -Z |
Looking at the trailers I know I am not going to see it, it looks exactly like #1 but with the mososaur thrown in and a "smarter, better, faster" 6 million dollar T rex.
The story looks exactly the same as #1. I did like #1 but I was at the right age for it then. I was scared of velociraptors for months! |

They have been playing 1, 2, and 3 on TV and I had a chance to re-watch them... yes they are kinda corny but as said these type of movies are "put your brain on hold and enjoy the fantasy" flicks. I won't pay to see it in the theater... I will rent it and toss back a few beers thou. |
They got your money.
There are hundreds of great films that get made every year. Very few people go to see them, and sadly often you need to live in LA or NY to see them in a theater, but they are out there on netflix, etc. Most recent one we watched (netsflix) was The Great Magician. Amazing Chinese film that you think if a serious period piece but has comedy, drama, irony, etc. Tony Leung is awesome as always. |
