Would also love to see Willy.
Saw Alvin Lee where he was doing his "Ten years later" tour.
Saw "the Wall" first time around in L.A., it was cool but far from my favorite PF album.

My favorite have been catching local musicians in a bar.
We followed a guy "Randy Rich and the Ravens" badazz blues band, we would drive out to Thousand Oaks, get a room at the Best Western across the street from the bar/restaurant where they played, have dinner and sit thought all three sets, shut down the bar, then stumble back to out rooms.

Oh yeah, I was at a party and some guys were going out to the Whiskey to catch a new band so I jumped in the car... saw "Tom Perry and the Heartbreakers"... I hear they are doing OK.

Lou Rawls maybe. Haven't really been exposed to Liza Minelli enough to want to see her live.

Not my style but the gal has pipes!
If you haven't seen her I think that ship has past, probably Mr. Rawls too.
Also saw the Smothers Brother's in Vegas and Beatlemaina too... the free flowing alcohol of old Vegas made my musical taste pretty liberal...

Hate to be the one that has to break it to you, but Lou Rawls has been dead for 9 years.

I saw him that long ago? Come to think of it my Vegas party days were over a decade ago.

But Elvis is still playing Vegas right?

Don't feel bad. A few years ago, a Barry White song came on the radio and I said "I wouldn't mind seing Barry White in concert". My friend said "Well, that would be pretty tough since he's been dead a long time!"

Based on your recommendation, I went and saw him last night in Annapolis.

All I can say is thank you.

I saw SRV with Double Trouble in the early 80's in some dive bar on lower Greenville Ave in Dallas. I didn't even know who he was when we stumbled in the bar and paid what was probably a 2 dollar cover. There couldn't have been more than 40 people there..

It wasn't till a few years later that I really understood how lucky we were that night..

I have been trying to step-up and cross off a few that I had been putting off, so recently covered:

AC/DC
Steve Winwood
Joe Walsh (solo)
The Eagles
The Moody Blues
and DLR/Van Halen (twice)--and I will continue to go every time the opportunity arises.

The whole concert thing has to be a West coast thing, I've been to concerts (big names) and had enjoyable time(s) but the idea that anything like that would be on my bucket list isn't fathomable.

Glad you liked it. Guys like him come along once or maybe twice in a lifetime. Not a bit of pretension in him.

For me, this show was the first of many, many great concerts to come. Not a bad line-up, eh? $7.00

Super happy for you, Amail! They are incredible, aren't they! I have seen Rush 16 times over the years. I would venture to say that their next tour might be their last... or hopefully not. The tours are literally killing Peart, who is now 63 years old.

In a Rolling Stone interview Geddy Lee talks about Rush's upcoming R40 tour and beyond -
Quote:
R40 is a celebration of Rush's 40th anniversary with Peart, but Lee doesn't expect them to still be touring when the 50th anniversary rolls around in 2024. "If I were a betting man, I wouldn't bet on it," says Lee. "When I see how hard it is to get everyone to agree to go out for our 40th, it's hard to imagine us having the same conversation in 10 years."

Part of the problem is the sheer physical toll that drumming throughout a three-hour shows takes on Peart, who turned 62 two months ago. "The way he plays is brutal and painful," says Lee. "Basically, he's in pain from the beginning of rehearsal until the end of the tour. And that's really not an exaggeration. So there's only so many miles a drummer like that has in him, and so it's hard to think ahead to the 50th."

All that I can say is, see them as much as you can before the lights go out.
