Winchester gun safes

I'm looking to upgrade from a Stack-On and Winchester fits my budget. Any experience here with this line of safes?

TIA

I have a relatively small Winchester gun safe that I installed in a closet. Holds more stuff than I would have thought. Has a dial type combination lock that works every time so far. For some reason I prefer a mechanical type lock to the electronic push button stuff with batteries. Bought it at Tractor Supply for not many dollars. Had it about 2 years. Happy with it.

I've had a "Big Horn" that TS used to carry (though I ordered mine direct) w/ 1 hr fireproof rating. 30 min would be fine for my needs. Bolted to the floor, they'll stop a smash and grab amateur, barely slow down a pro, but at least keep spoons from becoming "street spoons" and keeping important docs...YMMV.

Liberty is very nice. Winchester doesn't actually make their safes, one of the other manufacturers does. I have a snap safe, which is great if you move a lot.

I have a Winchester with a digital lock that failed. Once it failed it took me 5 minutes
with a drill and prybar to open it which honestly surprised me it was so easy
It now has welded on plates with a padlock. I'd definitely get one with a mechanical lock

I have an American Security BF7240. I like it, and bought it because it was the best value in opinion.

AMSEC Safes – Gun Safes, Security Products, Cash Management » BF Series Gun Safes

1/2" door plate
electronic lock
2hr UL burn cert.

definitely worth reading about. Will be pricey-er than the winchester/ costco special.

i was told not to buy a safe that used Sheetrock as the fire barrier.

no research behind it, but i figured it was okay advice. made buying a safe more challenging. lots of safes use sheetrock.

I suspect all the entry level ones do, and of course, they're virtually all made in China too....still OK for my needs. On the "Big Horn" safes....a single layer (1/2" I think) equates to 30 min and two gives you 1 hr (plus additional weight). Out in the boonies...I'd want more than 30 min, but with a fire station just a stones throw away, I wouldn't be overly concerned with the fire aspect....YMMV.
