Rossi and Marquez at Assen

The race was incredible, especially Rossi's high speed run through the gravel
without missing a beat., The highlights are on youtube, I'd share if I could, but
can't make it work, but for sure worth a look!

MotoGP is the best racing series around. That was a fantastic last couple of laps. Nice to see someone challenge Marquez after the last couple of years.

I agree. It's all out, everyman for himself, take no prisoners, kind of racing.

No phony rules, no Bernie Ecklestone. Lots of rabid fans! Rossi is a joy to watch.

Also, Marquez unhappy about "illegal" pass although he bumped Rossi off line IMO.
Looks like no further action.

Racing incident. Rossi held a tight outside line legally. Marquez slid into Rossi. Rossi forced to take evasive action. Marquez also missed the turn but was able to avoid the gravel.

Its pretty amazing that Marquez even managed to complete that corner. His move was a total dive-bomb and he used Rossi as a berm. I like it! Rossi has done this himself to others over the years, so he really can't complain too much about it. Without Rossi being there, I think Marquez would have been down anyway.

Nice victory from pole for Rossi. I am really cheering him on for the championship, but I'm doubtful. Jorge has traditionally been very strong in the 2nd half of the season. Unless Rossi digs really deep and comes up with something, I think he's going to get beat by Jorge.

I'm pretty sure Rossi knew Marc would dive bomb him in the last corner. I thought his corner entry was pretty wide, so it almost seemed like he was giving Marc enough rope to hang himself. Rossi is one smart dude when it comes to race strategy.

Almost as crazy as "the pass" on Stoner in the corkscrew. Didn't see any contact, but Marquez def pushed him offline.

No need for f1, this has been the series for the last 10 yrs or so.

The initial pass Rossi made (lap 8 or so, its on the highlights on Fox's page)was almost as impressive-Rossi bombs him and then goes thru the corner with the front in the air most of the way.

I like "the look" Val gave Marc after he got through the gravel.
