Company name

I've started a 911 used parts and light restoration company.

Which do you like better for the name?

"True 6" if those are the only choices.

wdfifteen 07-01-2015 08:09 AM

True 6

wdfifteen 07-01-2015 08:10 AM

Wait, two of us have said True 6 but there is only one vote for it.

URY914 07-01-2015 08:22 AM

How about "12/2"?

ckelly78z 07-01-2015 08:26 AM

I prefer it spelled out "TRUE SIX" sounds more sophisticated, while TRUE 6 sounds like a shortcut....not something a restoration shops wants to be associated with.

Baz 07-01-2015 08:33 AM

I voted "True 6" because seeing the numeral seems to better equate with the # of cylinders - for some reason.

In other words....it's more true to the nature of the business.

YMMV.....

Good luck, Shaun!

True 6

MBAtarga 07-01-2015 09:20 AM

both URL's are already taken (true6 dot com, truesix dot com)

Shaun @ Tru6 07-01-2015 09:24 AM

I got true-6 dot com ad true-six dot com yesterday.

Christien 07-01-2015 09:39 AM

In my mind, True 6 offers more options for graphic design and branding.

Hmmmm I wonder what looks better on a T-Shirt? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/grin.gif

Noah930 07-01-2015 09:44 AM

Why can't you use the two interchangeably? Use one for print/type (True Six), and the other for logos (True 6)?

911SauCy 07-01-2015 09:56 AM

True Sechs

It may cause too many hits to the website looking for porn?

Icemaster 07-01-2015 01:25 PM

First one above, one word with the umlaut.

McLovin 07-01-2015 01:26 PM

Ruf Six

I like

ill6

Because you can make a bumper sticker and everyone will apply it upside down.

MBAtarga 07-01-2015 06:10 PM

How about Sideways Six?

Holger 07-02-2015 12:18 AM

"Wahre 6", it should be "Echte 6"
Wahrheit/wahr/wahre is more the trouth
True/genuine is "echt".

If you fill in forms with lousy handwriting, you risk getting information mailed to True Sex. How do I know? Well,I sometimes receive mail addressed to Thoroughbred Lovers and it embarrasses my female staff.

True Six
Something about having a numeral in the name adds confusion when doing a search, or trying to find a company in an alphabetical listing.

Shaun I know you are really good at this type of stuff, but it took me awhile to make the connection between your stated goals for the company and the name and logo.

The name and logo are excellent, btw, I just didn't make the leap from that to the business.

Is it too insider baseball?

I just started another company that does aero work in the trucking industry (designing skirts and other aero devices) as well as wind tunnels, etc.

We all really liked Etesian Engineering - Etesian is a Greek name for strong winds in the Aegean Sea. Kind of neat.

When we took it out of our little group, it didn't play well. Cute but, "que"?

Anyway, my take on the name and logo isn't negative at all.
