How many bosses do you have

I'm up to like 6 now. They don't talk to each other and it sucks. Now they are laying off 100 people and I know after the layoffs I'll either be gone or still have like 6 bosses.

I hate the company I work for so bad!

Too many bosses. I hate the company I've been working for the last 30 years...... no pension plan, terrible benefits, no overtime, 60+ hour weeks, no paid vacation or sick days....

.....I'm self-employed!

I have one direct boss, but there are other VP's, directors, president, etc that I support when needed. Pretty good place to work, actually.

Ceo, cto, and 3 more bosses. I have 5 bosses.

Amen!

Only 1 wife.

craigster59 07-01-2015 05:14 PM

I answer to no one.

slodave 07-01-2015 05:21 PM

It's just me, myself, and I. I'm my own boss. When I really get angry at me, I fire myself.

My company is going even more to a "matrix" structure - more bosses, fewer doers. There are the "line" managers via a conventional "chain of command" structure, and "project leaders" who are also supervisory. This means one group or the other is always pissed off no matter what you do. A lose-lose situation for the workers bees.

As a result, I have something like 4 day-to-day bosses right now.

The company is woefully top heavy, and the bosses all think they are working hard managing others. The bosses are mostly ex-project leaders, not technical workers who actually do the work, so they put a much higher value on project management than on actually designing, building and testing new and current products.

Having said all that, I probably have (1) "real" boss - the wife, and (2) "bosses in training" - my daughters.

Just 1. My wife...she's the senior partner in our business. She started it in 1993, and I joined her in 2010.
Yes, we're together 24/7/365, and don't have any problems with it.

Every time I look in the mirror I see that SOB.....

Shaun @ Tru6 07-01-2015 06:29 PM

Me too, that guy drives me like a rented mule. I always tell him, that I am not a machine, but a mere human, and he simply tells me to get back to work, there is no time for your silly drivel .
That ass hat is making me work Friday, and most likely , Saturday morning (4th of July ). If I refuse, he says that I may have to look for a real job .

I lied. Actually I have many bosses, but whenever they would ask me one of their inane questions, I'd let a bit of drool come out of the corner of my mouth and give them the "thousand yard stare". They quit bugging me and now I'm the Master of my own domain.

rusnak 07-01-2015 06:37 PM

My crew hears my speel about "when your boss is talking, you're listening". And I don't mean me. I mean my boss.

Shaun @ Tru6 07-01-2015 06:38 PM

Glad I'm not the only one working Friday and Sat. morning Fred. Have a good Independence Day!

LOL.

Just don't start arguing with yourself Dave. That's when we really will start to get worried.

LakeCleElum 07-01-2015 07:16 PM

The only thing worse than having 6 bosses is when I had over 40+ working for me.......Glad I retired at age 52.......
