computer switch front panel not the P/S switch?

computer start switch

I have a 2-3 year old lenovo [IBM] i7 mini box

we had a power spike from a local lighting strike
the box was OFF but plugged in to a power strip with a surge suppressor

odd thing is the box was working right after
but the ATT universe box blew so no net or tv

so I tryed the power supply but no luck
then tryed a spare P/S no result no fan no lights no beep
but then tryed the paper clip test and the P/S spins it's fan
as does the other P/S but not in the computer

so now I am suppecting the tiny switch on the front panel
problem is the extra switch only has two wires while the IBM box's switch has jumpers
to the other pins 4 wire total and the plug on the other end is very different wire count and positions

so my question is why does the IBM units switch have jumpers ?
what do they do
both switches look the same 1/4'' square plastic and should swap
but one has 6 pins but two wires
the IBM unit has 4 wires to 4 pins

help !!!!!!!!

More likely the system board. Sorry to be a pessimist but surge protectors are not much good against lightning strikes. If you really want to eliminate the switch jumper the 24 pin connector while it's connect to the main board.
