Daytona

Looks like the Nascar guys are finally getting strapped into their cars to go racing tonight. It's been a rain delay.
Live coverage is on regular NBC.
Race should start around 11:30pm

Enjoyed the race, until the last lap. Not a hater, just wonder when the lessons learned from Dan Wheldon will be applied to NASCAR plate racing. Dillon might be too young to realize he should be dead, along with scores of fans.

Always a problem with the younger drivers, and the high safety of the cars makes it even worse.

I've had years of enjoying NASCAR, but right now is just a really really bad period. NASCAR is trying to embrace itself into a copy of the NFL mixed with MTV. They had a good thing going, but now are in territory.

Every young driver, the announcers have to talk about "what a nice young man he is". I live in Charlotte, its true in some cases, but other cases it a load of pure male bovine excrement to say that. They have a script, gotta stick to it.

NASCAR is trying to cater to the 14-18 year olds, and I guess I'm just not in that age bracket.

Frustrating, as they have incredible engineers, drivers, facilities, and cars that sound absolutely amazing.

Re-emphasize the sponsors on the cars, instead of over repeating official NASCAR sponsors only to ad-nauseum. We all know its Good Years tires and Sunnoco Race Fuel as we can read the friggin' logos.

Return the commentary to the track, the cars, the teams.

Stop restricting driver's social media and banning them for having a personality or opinion of any kind.

Don't fine a driver if he ever breathes the car design gets "aero tight" when trying to pass loud enough for anything or anyone to hear. Now when a driver wants to say it, you see them bite their lip, swallow, then change the subject.

These changes are not gonna happen, but I'll be interested again if it does. I can barely bare to watch/listen on TV or follow the series online. I just try to make it to some races in person, especially qualifying nights.

If the race wasn't at 3 am and the stands being rebuilt those stands would have been packed and people would have been killed. Especially with Jr in the lead. People would be down by the fence.

Did the wuss win, must have been his reward for his comments on the Confederate flag.
Not what it use to be (even though they have playedfavorites for years, but now blatant )
It had become the WWF of Motorsports, and i remember the 2nd time meeting jr, seeing him in action, a few spots down from the team i was working for, at his 2nd 24 hour race, he kept spinning off track in the infield, came in, whining about how much it sucked racing in the rain and at night, throwing his helmet. Lost all respect for him, and the way that race was run, under cation all night,, literally trying to hand the wussy the race.
