Ford F150 AdvanceTrac issues
2014 F150 CrewCab with a 5.0 and 20K miles.
Started the truck this am and got the service advance trac warning. Steering is out as it does not want to turn or fights you to turn. I turned off the truck and the problem went away. As hard as it was to try and turn the steering wheel, I let the tow truck bring it to the shop. Crossing two bridges and morning traffic seemed too risky to have it happen again. If this had happened while I was driving on the road, it would have been a definite wreck. Anybody else heard of or had this problem? Last edited by A930Rocket; 07-08-2015 at 04:26 PM.. |

I heard that wheels sensors (for ABS or whatever it is to sense the rotations) can get the computer to act in very weird ways and in the new trucks with the advance track showing..

What's weird is I thought maybe the RPM's were not high enough to pump the PS fluid or I was out of PS fluid. The short distance I went, the steering was jerking the steering wheel the opposite way I anted to go.
A search says it might be a wheel or steering wheel sensor. No word from the stealership yet. |

It's electric power steering, no hydraulic assist.
I had one similar notification early in my 2012 F150's life but I don't recall any steering issue. I think the dealership updated the ECU software and it's been trouble free since.

Well after 8 days my truck was ready they said.
Went to pick it up the said they replaced a steering shaft sensor and another part the service advisor didn't know what it was. And they didn't change the oil like I asked. That was a 2 hour wait. Drove it 2 hours and almost wrecked when the AdvanceTrac went out again. It'll be towed again to the stealership. I'm beginning to not like my new truck. |

I wouldn't like that very much either. I think you should talk to Ford
I wouldn't want to drive it again until they're sure it's fixed and I'm not sure how that will happen

I would trade it in for another major brand. I heard good reviews on the Amarok...
