Just a 'Glitch "?

anybody else here feel that the computer outages were more than just a glitch? I could not access my bank at all until the afternoon and I know others who had the same problem. I also read that they had an incident in Germany where they lost control of cruise missile batteries on the Syrian border as well. Do you all think this was covered up or just a coincidence? I'm suspicious..

Skynet came online a few weeks ago.

I find it hard to believe one of the largest stock exchanges, airlines, and newspapers ALL had computer glitches on the same day.

Seems very, very remote.

By the same token, if it was nefarious, someone might claim it ? And if you knew how to do this, you might save it for a special occasion instead of wasting it on yesterday, and warning those respective companies about their flaws... Dunno, I work in IT, this stuff isn't as secure or robust as one might believe... I buy glitch.... Especially the airline one....

This is why you never enable Auto Updates.

Wiggles finger like Jack Black... SUNSPOTS !

I can't even get my wife to pass me the remote control across the sofa, but something 450,000,000 miles away on the surface of the sun is screwing up my online banking.

THE NYSE HAS NO OPERATING BACK-UP REMOTE SITE!

So that confirms its surely the largest Ponzi scheme IN HISTORY! LOL

BTW: Fed required.

My laptop is now reminding me daily that updates are available. One of these days, when I have a day or so without anything to do just in case, I'll do the updates. I really hate updating a perfectly good, functioning computer. It's a roll of the dice whether there is an improvement or a disaster.

Someone on PARF said, "I'm sorry. I was wrong," and the entire cyberscape collapsed.

Well the WSJ said their issues were related due to volume from all the people seeing why the NYSE crashed. I would imagine Marketwatch had issues for the same reason, unless it was part of a bigger plot.

techweenie 07-10-2015 06:49 AM

It's all related to Jade Helm.

Just another example that the hackers are ahead of the defenders. Maybe a poor choice of words but there it is.

I use Auslogics DiskDeFrag and the other day I downloaded their PC Speed (or some such name) and did their scan. It came up that I had 17 drivers out of date, etc.
A whole bunch of other issues...according to them.
I called my computer guru buddy (similar to you guys on PPOT, :) ) and he asked how my rig was running. Told him, "Fine. Slicker than greased velvet."
He said, "Don't do anything! Leave it alone!"
So I removed the download.
As is well.
