Yep, if the lottery found my ticket to be a big winner, I would go down to the Ford dealer and get a 5.0L 6 speed manual Mustang....maybe if I could find one, a new GT350. I would then get a new diesel King Ranch F-250 4x4.......I better show up with at least $100,000.

Looks great, congratulations, post some more pics. What's the tail thing all about?

As they say, to each their own. The '15s rear is mucho better than the '14s in my opinion (although the lower diffuser should be black and not body color).

Great looking ride, congrats!

Yeah, the 2015 does look good. I'm OK with the black but think charcoal would work better for the exhaust surround as well as tail light panel.

'15 has much better hips than the '14.

It's fun to study the detail differences in the two.

It's obvious that Ford spent a lot of time on getting the design details right. I like those little ridges going up the "C" pillars and the nice detail on the roof. The way they buried the CHMSL in the top of the backlight is very nice, and specing black mufflers instead of raw galvanized really cleans up a wart.

I wonder if the round GT emblem would look good on the 2015. .. If only there were a way to find out....

(Yes, I think it would look good!)

Yes, I am 10,000 time happier with the tail on the 2015... and yes we are all car guys and gals and would prefer a V8 with a stick, however a 300HP 30MPG V6 with paddle shifter's would so perfectly fit my want/need for a hot rod that get 30 MPG to get me to work as a DD... now where did I put those lotto tickets?

Now just offer a Bullitt and I'll get in line.

Was at EAA Airventure (Oshkosh) yesterday. Ford seemingly had one of everything they make there including examples of pre-production GT350R, Focus RS, Raptor, GT and a 2016 Lincoln Continental (neat) as well as a Mustang 5.0 displayed on its side for inspection of the underpinnings and multiple 5.0's in various places around the grounds.
And then there were the "other" Mustangs built by North American in even greater numbers!!

IMO, the new Fords are really impressive from imagination, design and manufacturing perspectives. We'll see what time does to and for them.

My two most anticipated cars of the next year are the Focus RS and Mustang GT350. Partially because they are both attainable, especially after a few years of depreciation. I enjoy reading about the next GT3 RS or similar Porsche porn, but know that I will likely never own one.

Not if you keep thinking like that you wont! ;)

Yea, a bullet, i'd be all over that with a tan leather interior, Green is my favorite color.

My son and I were out getting lunch yesterday and saw a white convertible, must have been the six since there were no 5.0 or GT emblems, and it had to have been lowered a little. Level stance, stock everything but about 1.5" lower all around. Top down, looked great.

It just doesn't seem like that long ago! (I bought a new '87 LX 5.0 and then traded it on a new '90.) This one is at the local gym and I've seen two older ladies getting out of it.

Even if I had the cash, I'd be hard pressed to spend that much money on a car.

joe payne 07-24-2015 06:01 PM

The Bullitt look is sweet. Or maybe a modern day GT 350 clone look. I would just buy the car in the needed color and make my own.

Highly unlikely this will happen. Why?

1. It's been a long time since the movie. Few of today's Mustang buyers were alive when the movie was made.

2. Ford would have to pay royalties to the McQueen Estate.

And the biggest reason?

3. The 2008 Bullitt did not reach the "limited" sales number of 7,000. Thus, a small number of '09 models were built. My '09,#6380, was one of 629 Dark Highland Green '09's made. Ford also made 181 black '09 Bullitts. Overall, less than 7,000
'08-'09 Bullitts were manufactured. 6,582 total.

Besides, everybody here knows that no Mustang can hang with a well set up 944.

onewhippedpuppy 07-26-2015 03:31 PM

I like how Paul is still bitter, even on a thread COMPLIMENTING the new Mustang.

Btw, the Bullitt didn't sell well because it was a bland styling package and about $500 worth of bolt on performance parts. The GT500 was far more expensive and they couldn't build them fast enough because they were a huge enhancement to the GT.

I like the look of the new stang. A kid at work got one about 2 months ago, it is an ecoboost. He was sitting in it in the lot a couple of weeks ago and I asked him if it always puffed white smoke out the tail pipes. He said it never had before. I said head gasket, take it back, and left. Another co-worker checked under the hood, and later told me the coolant overflow was bubbling.

Congrats on picking the v6, sounds like you made a good decision.

Ford are building some good cars at the moment. It seems they are taking notice of the market more than some other large brands.
The Focus RS and the Mustang are perfect examples and along with a return to Le Mans next year they are heading in the right direction.
