Pulled the trigger on a new 'Stang
Our kids are mostly grown (after this year, only 2 left below driving age), so the wife's minivan is no longer a necessity (thank God!). So, a couple days ago, we pulled the trigger and got her this sexy beast.

I'm the furthest thing from the domestic/muscle car type...but those new Mustangs are stunning. Congrats.

Neat...love the new 'stangs.
. And it's not White, Black, or Silver. ;) |

It's not the EcoBoost I4. That's what we initially were looking at. She test drove one and loved it, and then we did a little research. Being this is the first year for that engine, it's been plagued with some recall issues that my wife really didn't want to deal with; can't blame her there. She's not the best driver in the world, so would likely wrap a 5.0 around a tree eventually, so we settled on getting her the V6...and it's an automatic (though it does have paddle shifters so I can "play" occasionally). When she was in the "searching" phase, there were a few cars she considered--Scion FRS, Mazda Speed 3, and the 'Stang. I purposely didn't drive the Mustang so that I wouldn't sway her decision (I love Mustangs, and miss my '09 occasionally). The V6 produces the same amount of HP as the EcoBoost (310), but has slightly less torque (the EcoBoost has 320; I think the V6 is around 290 or 300). The car has so many damn buttons on the steering wheel, it's crazy! When we went to buy this, they had none in the state of Arizona in the color she wanted, so they had to bring this one in from New Mexico. Of course, that didn't happen until after the dumbass salesman tried to pass off an EcoBoost as a V6 to us, like I wouldn't know the difference. Idiot. If it wasn't a V6, and if it was a manual transmission, I'd probably steal the car from my wife. It's funny; after driving it, I seriously considered buying myself one. |
Pretty from that angle! I just still can't make peace with the rear end of them.... Hope it serves her well!!!
I love my 2.0l ecoboost escape, fwiw. |

Great AMERICAN car... ;)

Not going to lie, if I had about 30 large to go buy a new car for me with, there is a good chance I might come home with one of those! I had the last gen with the V-8 as a rental and it was a hoot!

Great car. Period.
I've had a lot of the previous generation Mustangs in GT500 and Roush form, nothing gives more smiles for the money. We had a new base model 2015 V6 rental last week and I came away very impressed. Congrats! |
Ford
Found On Road Driving! Beautiful mustang! |
We had a 2015 V6 base model convertible as a rental in FL in May. I was very impressed. Very solid with little cowl shake, and the IRS gives it a nice road feel. I could almost (operative word) live with the paddle shifted auto. It sure beats our 87 GT convertible.

+ 2 for the tails --- Ford did a good job on this one.
