I have to agree. I'm a thin crust fan. If I wanted to eat a loaf of bread I would buy one.

Chi-town pizza rocks. There was a Lou Malnati's downstairs from my office when I lived there. Occasionally, someone would start chanting, "Disk of Death! Disk of Death!" This was the call for all those that wanted to go in on a LM pizza. SO damn good.

Well, now hold on.

Try living in a city with no decent deep dish pizzas anywhere. Then tell me that it ain't special.

And a bagel with anything other than onion in it ain't a bagel.

But, that doesn't mean it's not good.

I agree with you there. Hard to find a good one around here unless it's homemade.

But I don't agree with you there. There's no better bagel than a fresh-out-of-the-oven St. Viateur (Montreal) sesame seed bagel with cream cheese. Everything else is just a dense bun.

OK, sesame seeds or the like are part of a bagel. I'm talking about nuts, bananas, and weird crap like raisins and stuff.

I agree with GW. Less is better. The best pizza I ever had was in Montreal. If I remember correctly it was a margerita type pizza. Just crust, cheese and tomato sauce.

Pizza is also referred to as "pizza pie", or sometimes as just "pie".

This wafer thin crust nonsense is just perverted Roman style pizza that somehow snuck into the American definition of pizza.

It's not pizza, its a cracker.

This is pizza. http://www.buzzfeed.com/christinebyrne/real-pizza-pie#.uqR4g9qKJ

Mush.

The original pizza may have been flatbread with cheese and spices only:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pizza
"Modern pizza evolved from similar flatbread dishes in Naples, Italy in the 18th or early 19th century.[14] Prior to that time, flatbread was often topped with ingredients such as garlic, salt, lard, cheese, and basil. It is uncertain when tomatoes were first added and there are many conflicting claims.[14]"

I prefer thin crust (and we could go on for days debating what is "thin" crust.)

But I'm sorry, if you haven't had deep dish in Chicago you haven't lived.

Have you been to Chicago Pizza Shack in Hamilton?

There's Mickey's Pizza in Miss. They have deep dish and thin crust.

As far as bagels go nothing beats Gryfes bagels in Toronto. Fresh out of the oven poppy seed with salt.
