Might need some help in Seattle:

Should have posted this two weeks ago but the short story is that I have a truck up there with a bad engine that I need to either find a shop to install a replacement or find someone with a great home or off-sight shop where I can pay them to store it for a short while and come up there and put motor in myself. It's probably a one (long) day job.

I was just going to ship it down here, (still might), but it's turning into a slight PIA so looking into plan B. I talked to my buddy John Walker when I bought it but of course he works on Porsches and since he's so good at it and has a good name in town, his shop is packed and he's busier than a whore on payday.

Anyone up there recommend a good all-purpose domestic shop that will do me right? Or someone have one hell of a big driveway and man cave? I will pay. TIA.

American or import truck?

rusnak 07-30-2015 08:10 PM

Hmm...I know people around Seattle, but nowhere near Seattle. Closest would be a warehouse 35 miles away. :( I'm going to be up there for 3 days running all around Washington in 2 weeks.

Chevy.

The truck is actually in Sultan, which is near Monroe, WA. Maybe 40 or 50 miles NE of Seattle.

Could have sworn I mentioned him already.

Oops. That's what I get for skimming.

I'm going to be near mostly Centralia, Shelton, Olympia, and Elma. I think I'll stop in on friends in Tacoma if I have time. But Monroe is way out there. Those little town names are so challenging! If you need a hand loading the truck onto a tow vehicle on or around 8-12-15 then let me know.

Thanks man.

Ok, that's not Seattle, it's up off hwy 2. I know a gal who lives up in Duval, I'll contact her today and see if she can help.

I'll be in working out of Wenatchee, Washington for two weeks starting on the 16th of August. I have a free weekend, the 22nd and 23rd if you still need help.

Sultan - Why didn't you say so earlier? I snowmobile with a guy that owns/operates heavy equipment and lives in Sultan. I'm sure he has room and has a loader to pull your engine when you get it ready. He might know someone to change it for you?

I'm out the door to go to my Seattle house to prep the septic for a sale inspection. I PM you Kenny's info. I will call him tonight and pave the way for you. I live 2 hrs each way if you need an extra hand.

UR PM box is full - Tried the Pelican email feature? Hope you got it.

Hijack.

Bob, if you are around the weekend I am in Wenatchee, I'd love to stop by.

We are imaging a whole bunch of infrastructure sites, dams and orchards in the area.

Best.

Denis,

I'm only about 20 minutes from Sultan. Let me know if you could use another wrench.

Denis,

I have a place in Kirkland with room for you to store it and work on it. It's a large 3 car garage with a few projects in it but plenty of room. I'm not there of course but I have a key box on site. If you need a place to crash there is an apt. above the garage that is vacant with a nice blow up mattress there and kitchen.

Jerry

speeder 07-31-2015 11:18 AM

This place is amazing. I'll try to call you, Jerry. Thanks a lot.

LakeCleElum 07-31-2015 04:16 PM

Good talking to you today Denis. Between Jerry and my friend Ken, you should be good to go. Let us know if there is a work party.....I drink GIN
