Miata rough idle in drive smooth idle in neutral?

Had trans fluid changed at dealership, just to be sure I checked the fluid per owners manual (warm/engine running) and it looks clean and level is good. I'm also leaning toward suspecting the trans. I've refreshed the engine, new belts, all new cooling system, new plugs/wires, etc.

I need to look up the model of trans and see what I can find about it.
