We talked about politics last time - pretty soon it will be the season to include some sports.

There's definitely an art to conversing in certain settings....
My wife and I were in Las Vegas back in 2003. I forgot to cut my hair before we left so we went driving around looking for a haircut place. In a little inconspicuous strip mall was a sign that said Barber. So we pulled in. We walk inside and soon realize this was not an ordinary barber shop. There were pictures of celebrities(Bob Hope, the brat pack etc) standing with some guy. Then this older gentleman walks up to me and asks me to take a seat and we begin talking. It turns out that it was him in those pictures with the celebrities. His name is Michael French and he's known as the Stylist to the Stars. It was a pretty cool experience. He passed away in 2012 but here's one of many write-ups on him.

The use of nigga is common place today among young kids of all colors - so long as those young kids are little thugs. I see white, black, asian, mexican all using it like it is the word "dude". The thing they all have in common is they are all thugs or wana-be-thugs. No normal kids talk like that.

I should have qualified it by saying the only place I NEVER HEAR the word "nigger" is in mixed company..., and I am told blacks use it all the time amongst themselves.......but I wouldn't know that for a fact.
