Indy car

A wickedly entertaining, fast race from Pocono today, but too many crashes especially the last one. Drivers too often get hurt badly for the price of entertainment.

I hope all are OK, and I hope and pray for JW, I always liked him in F1. I feel somewhat guilty for enjoying this race until the aforementioned crash at the end.

I met JW when he raced for Dale Coyne racing, and the CART circus was in Portland; Just the nicest guy in the world, he had time for everyone, and if you recall, he won a race for Dale Coyne. First ever (and only) for that hardscrabble team. Six feet tall, handsome, and and he speaks with an English accent; all the chicks were digging him that day, that's for sure!

Get well soon, racer!

It doesn't look good. He was nonresponsive when loaded in the helicopter. He's at my local hospital, good level one trauma center. Best wishes. Crappy luck.

Gawd, this is depressing. Such a nice guy. Hope he pulls through OK.

I read somewhere, 6' 4" quite tall and may even have made his situation worse for it. I not sure how he fitted into these cars as most guys on so small. Although I think they need to fit in under
a line from front cockpit to roll bar. I hope the best for him.

I agree, I met him at St. Pete's race a while back and he was a super friendly
guy. If there's a god in heaven, please give this guy a chance.

My thoughts are with Justin and his friends and family. Bad news is it looks like he caught Sage Karam's nose cone on his helmet but good news is it looks like he hit the brakes afterwards showing he was still awake before hitting the inside wall.

I didn't watch it. Something about a piece of nosecone first coming into contact with Wilson?

He's tall but no doubt fits within reg's safety. These are huge tubs, relative to F1.

I don't follow the series anyways, but wishing the very best of recovery for him. Any head injury is bad news regardless.

I noticed that, too--brakes locked up after he was struck by debris, but before he impacted the wall.

Best wishes to him and his family.

indy car is doomed as long as they insist on driving open wheel cars on ovals.

This, however, Americans love their left turns.

Very sad. Between, Wheldon, Massa, Bianci, and now Wilson, the days of open cockpits are numbered.

I'm so sad right now. It always hurts when a racer dies, some are especially hard. Antron Senna was bad, Greg Moore had me in serious tears, and this seems just as bad. Justin seemed like one of those really great guys who also was a great racer you hoped for great success to come his way. RIP Justin, you will always be in my thoughts.
