That would be one hell of a commission. When you get into the 8+ figures, do real estate commissions drop from much 6% ? I know it's negotiable.

It's always negotiable. But even if it as 6% it's customary to split that with the agent who brings the buyer.


One reason these pay big, is because this house may be on the market for years at that price. The agent is rolling the dice and coming out of pocket to market the property and fronting costs for that and won't get paid until it's sold.
