Best way to ship a MC long distance ?

Looks like my Buell ownership will be short lived. Posted it up on Facebook, and it was sold within the first few hours. Going to Montana From Pittsburgh. Sold through a local buddy, so I get cash in hand in person. Easy peasy ....
Any experience with a good economical mc shipper ?

Check out uship. But I also think maybe ABF has a service where you pack it up in a special crate and they haul it?

I used Keyboard about 4 years ago. No need to crate. They pick up in a semi-, door-to-door service.

Thanks guys, and yeah, it would be hard to keep my post count up from behind bars, or the hospital bed . I did a short stint on sportbikes in my 20"s, and quickly realized that it was not for me.

Look up Huntington Beach Haulers on FB. They'll take good care of the bike.

Tim Weig hauled a moto from WA state to here in AZ for < $300, as I recall.
He has a beautiful and huge enclosed rig...and he likes what he does.
Also, a good guy & a dirt bike enthusiast.

Wouldn't use U-ship on a bet.

Best way is to crate it and ship it LTL.

Be careful of some of the dedicated MC carriers. Some of them outsource the transport of the bike to their hub to just about anybody. The guy that bought my RC30 arranged a pickup from a company that sub'd it out to a local hauler that normally hauls kitchen applicance, etc. That was interesting.

I've done some DOT work with Forward Air. They ship ALOT of motorcycles.

Also, might check with local dealerships to see who they use.
