which is cooler, hotter, sexier 917 or GT40?

I have a hard time deciding and actually waver back and forth a bit, but I guess I'd have to give it to the 917 by a hair.

To make proper determination, a more thorough examination would be necessary.

The GT40 because you can drive one on the street but the 917 has that specialness that's difficult to quantify.

If I was a Billionaire I'd have both

I'll go with the the 917. The sound of that normally-aspirated flat 12 is like an internal combustion symphony. Can't wait to hear 'em at Rennsport this weekend...

Turn it up LOUD!

He GT40 looks better.... But the sound the 917 makes is so much better... Also the sheer dominance of the 917 is staggering. An amazing piece of engineering.

Then again, I wouldn't kick either one out of my garage...

The GT40 has nicer lines and almost a street car...Plus it beat Porsche
In the end you want to end up naked with Sophia or Rachael ....
The 906 perhaps is closer to a GT40..

The two cars were built to a different set of rules. The 917K is certainly the better looking car as far as I am concerned and the 917 engine wins on all counts.

The 917 was too new and unreliable in 1969 to beat a 908, much less the GT40. The 917 was a better race car in the end, though.

For me the 917 lacks visual character , too smooth looking.
The GT40 oozzes testosterone from every visual angle . JMO

Ok I will come clean on this one. A guy I know in town has four Ford Gt's two original Gt's one is some kind of a prototype. something about a race in Australia? Anybody have info on this?
And two new Gt40's Granted they are amazing cars and downright sexy. But my Heart belongs to Porsche and a 917 she isn't. this guy is super cool and I would not even want to guess what his Ford collection is worth. The stuff he has is INSANE
SOHC 427's must be his thing he has a bunch of them. one is in a boat owned by an old nascar driver. I think it said Baker on it??????
I am a Porsche / Mopar guy but this collection deserves a friggin TV show. its UNREAL and never gets shown.

The early Gt-40's are unquestionably sexy.

But 917 # 23 stole my heart 15 years ago, and still has not given it back.
I remember, again back in 2000, the for sale sign wording

To me, the 917, no contest. Although the GT40 ain't bad, either.
