Polar Bear update
We closed on a new house the first of June, started working on it and finally moved into it the middle of July. The kitchen was still bare to the walls. So, we still had a lot of work to do. I haven't been able to work on the bear since late May. Finally got some time the last two weeks to get back at it. It's moving, slowly. It still weighs over 300 lbs, maybe 325. Turkish Marble.

You know what, Dean?
Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, MI has the finest permanent collection of Inuit art known. Your bear reminds me of it. |

Looking at Inuit art is what made me start this. I couldn't afford to buy the real stuff so I thought I would make it.

You are following your inspiration. Good for you, Dean.
One thing I struggle with almost daily, at my age, is the regret I have for not having done the same. However, other people have and my appreciation for their effort is enough of a reward for me. Keep going. |
