One of the more famous racers once said it must have been perfectly balanced because once it started spinning, it went on forever. Or something to that effect.

![]() I learn something new every day. I did not know this thing existed. Looks like there are kit cars out there. That'd be fun over the run off the mill Cobra! G |

No drive shaft, kind of a mid-engine, 16 made, driver's legs got baked as the headers went OVER the legs.

This was my favorite slot car that we had in the 60's! We had a big track and I would always have to have the Cheetah when racing with my three older brothers.

A car from when men were men and driving was about taming the beast, not the beast taming you with electronic gizmos! I love that the exhaust headers burned the driver's feet....like the original GT40 where the driver sat ON TOP of the fuel tank because that was the best spot for a full fuel tank to keep the weight distribution of the car. I love it!
Thanks for posting that article, I had never heard of the Cheetah.

Cheetahs at Road America 2014
There was a Cheetah Reunion at Road America for The Hawk vintage races last year. They had the Lester building inside turn 14.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I had not been aware of them until I read about the reunion at The Hawk.

Me too!
Thou they are rarer that hens teeth... a Daytona coupe (kit car) would be much more practical. What is all that about headers touching the drivers legs/feet? Looks like they are outside the cab? And yes I know Cobras (and vipers) get uber hot.

Sitting on the rear axle would probably feel really weird. I know that when I first got my miata, I felt like I was sitting way out back and it felt odd.
