Creating a Company Logo

Are there any Pelican's on here that can or can personally recommend someone that can create a company logo/branding for my new company.

I am after someone that is into high performance cars and motorsport that has a good track record in being able to get inside peoples heads to create the right logo/branding that reflects what I and my company are about.

I'm not asking for a freebie as I believe in doing things once and doing it right so prepared to pay for it.

I have a company name and that is about it so open to allowing the right person to be as creative as they can be.

I've got a guy.

He's done work for many hi end brands, Disney, Pepsi-Co, Ihop, Southwest, and others.

Absolute car guy who even designed his own aftermarket product.

I'll PM you his info.

I would hire two guys. One local to you in UK and one in US. UK car culture seems a bit different than ours here.

I can recommend my wife, she does this for a living. Has done it for many a client, as well as all of my businesses over the years. Does very good work. If interested, PM me for her website and info.

Crowd source it: Design Crowd

We have used them successfully for T-shirt & poster design. You tend to get some wildly inventive designs.

One thing to do is simple research. Just google the name or initials of the company you are trying to make a logo for. There are likely many other companies with the same name. Check out their logos to be sure yours is not just like theirs.

I know one friend that spent money with a professional for a new logo. The logo looked nice but after a he had started using it and spent the money on a sign, letterhead, and business cards he discovered it looked just like a big company's logo and he received a cease and desist letter. It cost his a lot to change logos, AGAIN.

My friend now thinks the "pro" he hired just googled the logo and picked one that looked good and then charged the fee and took credit for it.

I did this and had pretty good success.

I've used LogoMojo.com two times with great results. They farm out your design to 5 graphic designers and you get 5 different designs to chose from. Been very happy with them and the cost is minimal, all done online.

with all due respect crowd sourcing is the equivalent of shopping at walmart. it kills established specialty businesses that have real ongoing expenses to cover.

of course I just advocated for vistaprint on another thread so I guess I'm not consistent with this.

A friend of mine used these guys to design a label for his private rum brand.

I used a friend who dabbled in this sort of work as a side business. Very happy how it turned out. He also was able to produce print ads for us and website banners. He also created many logos for my wife's companies as well.

There are many talented people not doing this for a living...

Cheers

Matt @ Teske Design did ours; he's also a friend which first started as a friend's graphic guy.
